What sorts of flowers can I expect?
Expect the three ‘f’s: ‘focals, ‘fillers’ and foliage. We love flowers and foliage that have a natural and impactful look, and smell sublime. You’ll never get the same thing twice and will fall in love with some blooms you’ve never met before, as well as some classical English beauties.
What will my flowers be delivered in?
The Medium and Deluxe buckets will be delivered in…buckets! These are the property of Land Girl Flowers and should be left outside for collection on the day of your scheduled delivery. They are then washed and reused for future deliveries, meaning no packaging waste.
The Farm Bunch is delivered simply wrapped in brown string which can be placed in your home compost bin. Some bunches will be wrapped in brown paper (where flowers need to be wrapped to keep their shape while out of water). We highly recommend leaving a bucket of water outside on the day of your expected delivery if you’re not going to be in.
In the event that it’s raining on your delivery day and we cannot leave somewhere undercover, we will pop a plastic rain cover over your blooms. Please keep this and leave out on the day of your next delivery, so that we can resuse it.
When will my flower subscription start?
Flower subscriptions start around the start of May, but may be slightly earlier or later depending on weather conditions. Notification of start date will be sent out the week before deliveries commence.
When will I be charged?
Subscription payments are taken on a weekly, fortnightly, or four-weekly basis depending on the subscription chosen, and will be charged from the date purchased for the number of payments stated.
Why am I being charged before my subscription has started?
This helps us to plan and manage supply by investing in the seeds, bulbs and plants that are grown on the farm, and helps you spread the cost of making your home look and smell amazing once flower season is upon us. You are of course welcome to sign up for a subscription closer to the growing season so that your payments match the timings of deliveries, but subscriptions are limited in number and we cannot guarantee they will continue to be available to purchase during the growing season.
What if you run out of flowers?
We grow naturally and sustainably, without the use of chemicals or heated greenhouses to provide you with beautiful florist-grade flowers that do not cost our earth. We have a limited number of subscriptions available to ensure we can meet demand for subscriptions, florists, and wedding work, but in the unlikely event we do not have sufficient flowers available in a given week, flowers will be supplemented with blooms from other trusted British growers that uphold the same quality standards and commitment to growing sustainably. If the growing season comes to an early end (e.g. due to unseasonably early frosts) and no replacements are available, the remaining weeks’ flowers will be delivered in the first weeks of the following season.
What if I’m away?
If you’re going to be away on one of your delivery dates, we can skip the delivery. Please note this can be done for a maximum of two weekly deliveries, or one fortnightly delivery. If you get flowers delivered on a four-weekly basis, you can simply switch your delivery to another week that same month.
What days do you deliver?
For the 2025 season we will deliver on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Why? We know many of you want the flowers in your house to look their best at weekends when you are entertaining, or just have more time to enjoy them. Because we harvest and deliver ‘in-bud’ (flowers closed up but just starting to open)* for extra freshness and longevity, the flowers need a few days to open and look their weekend-best.
*the majority of flowers we grow are best cut in this way, but there are exceptions - Dahlias and some others will only open on the plant, so will be open and ready to wow when they arrive.
Can I choose my delivery day?
Sorry, no. We plan our delivery routes based on location and subscription type to minimise travel time for your flowers and ensuring that our solar-powered electric deliveries are as low-impact as possible. So you can shine your halo while arranging your blooms.
How do I get the best out of my flowers?
Don’t worry, we’ll let you know how to keep your flowers looking amazing, based on which blooms are in your deliveries. Plus follow @landgirlflowers on Insta for tips on cutting, conditioning, and arranging like a pro!
